Career Goal: Provide authentic research opportunities in mathematical phylogenetics which enable students to envision themselves as future mathematicians, statisticians, computer scientists and scientists. All students deserve the opportunity to be independent, to be challenged and to be supported. My goal is help foster a culture where interest, insight and effort rather than normative identities and cultural stereotypes determine who is included in the 21st century STEM community.
